As the warmer weather approaches, it's time to fire up the grill and sizzle with excitement!
We're thrilled to extend a warm invitation to join us for our annual Summer BBQ, with an interesting plenary program preceding it.

Before you will join us for an afternoon of delicious food, refreshing beverages, and fantastic company, we invite you for a guided tour at the new battery test facilities of VDL ETS* (see below).
After the tour, a very short ‘looking back and forward’ moderated by Pieter of Automotive Campus and Bram of RAI Automotive Industry NL is scheduled. Both activities are not mandatory.

This event isn't just about indulging in mouthwatering BBQ; it's an opportunity to connect, network, and foster new relationships with fellow members of our business community.

VDL ETS - battery test facilities
Last month, campus resident VDL ETS wrapped up the finishing touches to the construction of their brand new, ánd in the Netherlands unique, ‘battery test center’. Now they offer us the privilege of being the first ones to tour the facilities. During this visit, VDL staff will explain their state-of-the-art test equipment and how they will use it to test battery performance and reliability, ultimately improving battery quality. Of course, a demonstration of their expertise in testing vehicle systems under extreme conditions, some interesting proto vehicles and explanation of the Hill test systems is part of the exclusive tour.

In their test lab, VDL is able to carry out tests on battery cells off a wide variety of sizes; small button cells, cylindrical cells and pouch cells. All this, of course, under all the necessary climatic conditions. For this purpose, they have 560 channels available. Additionally, 8 channels are dedicated to testing battery modules, which are conducted in high-spec climate cabinets. By the end of 2024, the facilities will be expanded with 2 additional channels to enable battery pack testing.

ACE Mobility Student Award
During the plenary program, prior to the Summer BBQ, the ACE Mobility student award will also take place. This award was created to give visibility to knowledge and innovation in automotive companies.
If you want to you can join the ACE Mobility Student Award program from 3pm to 5pm instead of the program of Automotive Campus and RAI Automotive Industry NL. By the end of the afternoon, all guests will come together for the award ceremony, drinks, and BBQ.
