Helmond, Feb. 27, 2025 - As of March 2025, Mustafa Amhaouch will take office as the new director of Battery Competence Cluster-NL Foundation (BCC-NL). A former Member of Parliament, he has spent many years advocating for innovation, sustainability and the energy transition. Mustafa will be the driving force behind the continued growth and positioning of the foundation as the leading knowledge and innovation cluster for batteries in the Netherlands.
“The Netherlands has everything it needs to play a leading role in the energy transition. Batteries are a necessary link in that,” said Mustafa Amhaouch. “Together with the partners, I look forward to using my experience and vision to realize a strong, sustainable and innovative battery industry with BCC-NL.”
According to Pim Grol, chairman of BCC-NL, Mustafa Amhaouch, with his experience and involvement in both politics and business, is a perfect match for the foundation's ambitions. “With Mustafa's leadership and vision, we are confident that we can take the next steps in strengthening and expanding the battery ecosystem,” Grol said.
Battery Competence Cluster-NL is the knowledge and innovation cluster that focuses on the development and growth of the ecosystem across the entire Dutch battery value chain, with a strong international focus as well. The organization brings together companies, knowledge institutions and governments to stimulate innovation and cooperation, focusing on all aspects of the battery value chain, including production, recycling and materials development.
The foundation also expresses its gratitude to Dirk van Asseldonk, who has contributed to the development of BCC-NL with great dedication and energy in recent years. His commitment and vision have laid a solid foundation for the future of the cluster. “Dirk has played an important role in strengthening the cooperation between industry, knowledge institutions and government. We are very grateful to him for that,” said Pim Grol.
With the appointment of Mustafa Amhaouch, we look confidently to the future and the commitment to a strong and competitive battery industry in the Netherlands.
