V-tron, which has been based at the Automotive Campus for many years, has been researching an application of intelligent traffic lights together with MapTM, Swarco and Be Mobile: Green Light Optimized Speed Advisory (GLOSA). The intelligent traffic lights (iVri's) share information so that thanks to a speed advisory via an app or the on-board system, the driver can better anticipate the traffic light and thus have to stop and accelerate less. This is better for traffic flow, the environment and also reduces fuel consumption. As part of the ReVeAL project, last summer V-tron also tested an ISA (Intelligent Speed Assistant) system in Helmond, which helps drivers maintain the maximum speed, thereby improving traffic safety, among other things.
