Today we had the honor of hosting representatives from Greenville, South Carolina, at Automotive Campus in Helmond, in cooperation with RAI Automotive Industries NL. The visit was all about knowledge exchange, international cooperation and exploring opportunities within the mobility sector.
Greenville has developed into a leading gathering for companies and startups within mobility in the southeastern US. Its proximity to BMW's largest global plant in Spartanburg underscores the region's strategic position - an ecosystem that strongly aligns with our ecosystem's innovation-focused approach.
During conversations with Sam Konduros, President & CEO of the Greenville County Economic Development Corporation, and Sergio Domingues, Managing Director of the State of South Carolina Europe Office, we shared insights on accelerating mobility innovation, exchanged best practices and discussed opportunities to build transatlantic collaborations.
Greenville continues to be an attractive region for automotive investment. For example, in December 2024, Magna International announced a $200 million investment for expanding operations, which will create 200 new jobs.
This visit highlighted the importance of international cooperation in shaping the future of mobility.
