Last Friday, 13 student teams from across the Netherlands gathered at Summa Automotive & Smart Mobility College at Automotive Campus Helmond for the Dutch Championship Hydrogen Challenge (NK Waterstof) — a six-hour endurance race with self-built hydrogen-powered mini cars.
Teams showcased not only their technical and engineering skills, but also their creativity, teamwork, and dedication to sustainable innovation.
The stakes were high: five tickets to the World Championship were up for grabs.
As a participant said: "Overtaking goes well, but keeping the car intact... that’s the real challenge."
Behind the scenes: students analyzed data, optimized performance, and solved real-time problems - just like in professional motorsport engineering.
This event is a great example of the power of hands-on learning at our campus ecosystem, where education, technology, and industry come together to shape the future.
