Sienna and Nova from Vakcollege Helmond recently stepped into the shoes of our Managing Director, Sascha Bloemhoff, as part of Baas van Morgen (Boss for a Day). For one day, they had the opportunity to contribute to discussions and decisions on a campus where mobility, innovation and talent development come together.
Together with the management team of Summa Automotive & Smart Mobility, they explored a variety of topics, ranging from drone education and road safety to smoking policies on and around the campus. Their recommendations were both practical and forward-looking: introduce an elective course on drones and create a designated area for smokers on campus.
At Fontys Automotive, discussions focused on how technology education can become more attractive and accessible to girls. Ideas included designing more neutral assignments and creating learning environments where students feel represented, supported and encouraged to develop their interests.
The day concluded with a tour of the campus, during which Sienna and Nova shared their perspectives on communication, styling and the overall campus experience. Their observations provided valuable insights and a fresh perspective on how young people experience educational and innovation environments.
Experiences like these highlight the importance of giving young people the opportunity to discover technology and innovation up close. By connecting them with education, research and industry, they can explore their interests, talents and future career opportunities.
This is also one of the reasons why we look forward to the upcoming High Tech Discovery Route, where visitors can explore organisations across Automotive Campus and the wider Brainport region. It offers a unique opportunity to discover how technology, innovation and talent come together to shape the mobility and energy systems of the future.
